MAIJA-LIISA FRIMAN APPOINTED AS ASPOCOMP’S PRESIDENT AND CEO
The Board of Directors of Aspocomp Group Oyj has appointed Maija-

Liisa Friman as the new President and CEO of the company. Ms Friman

is currently Managing Director at Vattenfall Oy. Prior to her current

position, Ms Friman was Managing Director at Gyproc Oy and has

previously held various management positions in Kemira Oyj in Finland

and the United States. She is 52 years old and has a Master of

Science degree in chemical engineering from the Helsinki University

of Technology.
“Maija-Liisa Friman has strong management experience from

international organisations. This is important to Aspocomp, since the

company operates in global business with significant growing

operations in Asia. In providing customer value, Aspocomp has a

strong focus in co-operation with the customers in R&D, production

and operations also in Finland and Europe”, says Tuomo Lähdesmäki,

Chairman of the Board.

the industry are preparing for an exciting development phase.

Aspocomp has a strong manufacturing platform to serve both global and

local customer needs in all continents”, says Maija-Liisa Friman.
Ms Friman will take up her new appointment no later than May 1st,

2004. Until that point of time, the duties of Chief Executive Officer

of the company will be performed by Mr Pertti Vuorinen, Chief

Financial Officer and Deputy CEO of Aspocomp.
