ASPOCOMP OY STARTS PERSONNEL NEGOTIATIONS REGARDING THE POSSIBLE
CLOSING OF ITS ESPOO PRINTED WIRING BOARD FACTORY

Aspocomp Group investigates the possibility to close down the
Aspocomp Oy PWB factory in Espoo, based on both productional and
economical reasons.
The proposal relating to the personnel negotiations of the Espoo
factory was given today at 12.00. The negotiations regarding the
possible personnel reductions and reorganization concern all the
personnel groups, total of 137 persons, at the factory.

Among the reasons for the possible closing of the Espoo factory are
unprofitability, the price pressure in the market and the
overcapacity in the global PWB industry.

According to preliminary investigations the production of the Espoo
plant could be produced at other Group plants. The Espoo plant’s
share of the Group net sales in 2000 was 5 % and its share of the
Group personnel 7 %.
