Prototype boards in days, not weeks — without compromising on AS9100 quality
Aspocomp manufactures complex multilayer, HDI and Radio Frequency (RF) prototypes from 5 working days at our facility in Oulu, Finland. The boards run on the same line as our serial production — meaning AS9100 traceability and IPC Class 3 quality on every quick-turn order, not just an unrelated quality system used for production work.
If your team needs a prototype before a customer demo, design review or first article inspection, our European production removes the weeks-long wait that comes with offshore suppliers and traders.

Lead times by PCB type
| PCB type | Quick-turn lead time |
| Standard multilayer (4–8 layers) | From 5 working days |
| Multilayer (10–16 layers) | From 7 working days |
| High-layer-count multilayer (20+ layers) | From 10 working days |
| HDI / Advanced HDI / Anylayer | From 10 working days |
| High-Frequency / Radio Frequency (RF) (PTFE-based) | From 12 working days |
| Heavy Copper (≥3 oz) | From 10 working days |
Note: Lead times are from manufacturing-ready data. DFM review (typically 24–48 hours) runs in parallel with material reservation. All lead times are confirmed in the project quote.
Why European quick-turn matters
Asian PCB factories are not slow. A quick-turn order can leave a Chinese line in 7–10 working days. The end-to-end lead time problem for European customers is in the parts of the chain that surround the factory, not in the factory itself:
- Air freight from Asia to Europe: typically 5–7 days, with periodic disruption from freight capacity and pricing.
- Customs clearance: variable, with occasional multi-day delays.
- Material availability: specialty laminates (low-loss, RF, high-Tg) often need to be sourced before production can begin, adding days that don’t appear in the factory’s “production lead time” quote.
Aspocomp’s Oulu facility removes these variables. Shipping within Europe is 1–2 days. Customs is irrelevant for intra-EU deliveries. And our laminate inventory and supplier relationships let us start production immediately on most material grades — without the wait that often hides inside an Asian production schedule.

What to submit for a quote
- Gerber files (RS-274X) or ODB++
- Drill data and stack-up specification
- IPC class requirement (Class 2 / 3 / 3DS)
- Board quantity and target lead time
- Controlled impedance specifications, if applicable
Quotes are returned within 24 hours for standard multilayer projects, 48 hours for HDI, RF and Heavy Copper projects.
Frequently asked questions
What is the fastest lead time you can commit to?
5 working days for manufacturing-ready 4–8 layer multilayer boards. This includes DFM review, production and electrical testing. Express shipping within Europe adds 1–2 days door-to-door.
Is quick-turn cheaper than standard production?
No — quick-turn includes a premium for priority production slot allocation and expedited material handling. The value is in lead time, not unit cost. For cost-sensitive volume work, standard lead times apply.
Are quick-turn boards lower quality than serial production?
No. They run on the same production line with the same IPC inspection regime. AS9100 traceability is maintained. The compression is in scheduling, not quality.
Can my quick-turn prototype transition to volume production at Aspocomp?
Yes — this is a core part of how we work. Designs prototyped in Oulu can move to volume production at our Asian partner facilities under the same account team, with no requalification required on your side.
What if my design has issues that require rework?
DFM review is part of every quick-turn order. Issues are flagged within 24–48 hours of submission, before production starts. Most can be resolved with a stack-up adjustment without affecting the committed lead time.
Do you ship outside Europe?
Yes, by air freight. Because we operate both European production and a qualified Asian partner network, we can route urgent orders from whichever location offers the fastest end-to-end delivery for the destination. This is part of the quote process — we identify the fastest route, not just quote from a single facility.
